Jim CrooksDuring the last four years as your Councilman, Jim Crooks has refused to sit on his hands.

These tough and uncertain economic times require the sort of leadership that people can truly rely on to make smart decisions on their behalf. And that's what the last year-and-a-half has compelled from our elected officials: Strong Leadership. Jim Crooks has devoted his two terms on Council to making those smart, and at times tough decicions, so that future generations of Independence residents can feel safe knowing that today, we had their well being in mind.

familyTwo years ago, noted on this Web site was the fact that Independence is among the finest places to live, work and raise a family. Today, that statement has been formalized as our community's vision. In order to keep Independence the best place to live, work and raise a family, our community needs Strong Leadership.

Strong Leadership to take stands on issues that are based on principle. Strong Leadership to guide the city when the outcomes of our decisions are uncertain or unpopular. And, Strong Leadership to ensure that the Independence we know today maintains its charm and character while staying on the cutting edge of innovative best-management practices for municipal and economic development.

With respect as your representative,

Jim Crooks
